As much as i wanted to,
i don't want my Youngest child - Arquin who is a Four years old in Nursery
learning stage to spend his day just by watching cartoons because as all we
know, too much watching of television is not healthy for children, but when my
hubby called our local cable provider to add another channel, i said Whaaat?
but before we started to argue he said that it was an educational cartoon
program for Little Children, so i said Let's see what will be the outcome...
as the weeks passes by i
noticed a gradual improvement on my Son's English speaking skills, he may not
spoken the straight English conversation but i was amazed when he started to
speak some of the common English sentences like "i got it!" - well
it's normal for me to be puzzled because i was not really teaching him complex English language regularly and i normally leave him weekdays with his Lola who
used to speak a native language at our Home so i'm quite impressed, and lately
i noticed that he also learns the basic shapes, Basic numbers and some easy
logical learning for preschoolers... so to share to you what's this educational TV shows for children, you may check these Channels:
1. Bubble Guppies
It's an American preschool children's television series produced for Nickelodeon (accdg. to wikipedia) a variety-style kids show teaches preschoolers science, math, and reading while it explores themes such as dinosaurs, recycling, rock 'n roll, colors, and cowboys. Among the characters featured on the show are turbocharged Gil, leader Molly and drama queen Deema. - this was the most watched educational tv show of my son;)

is a computer animated fantasy musical series with an emphasis on preschool mathematical concepts, such as counting, sequences, shapes, patterns, measurements, and comparisons. "Team Umizoomi" consists of 6-year-old Milli, her brother Geo, who's 8, and their friendly robot named Bot. These mighty math superheroes introduce young viewers to the concepts of counting, measurement, shapes and patterns. Milli and Geo help other kids in Umi City with their problems, which are sent to them via the Umi Alarm- this child firendly tv program teaches children to be resourceful and to think what's the right thing to be done in a certain situations, i knew this because i once watched an episode ;)

In each episode, viewers join Dora on an adventure in an animated world set inside a computer. The titular character seeks viewers' help in solving a puzzle or mystery she faces in each episode.

4. The Amazing World of Gumball (British–American animated television series)
It's a Middle school Television Comedy Cartoon series but my son loves it, It's a Short 11 minutes show that it's about a young cat named Gumball Watterson. Gumball has a penchant for getting into trouble, often resulting from schemes he comes up with, but he never seems to learn his lesson. Gumball's best friend is a fish named Darwin, who used to be the family pet until he grew legs and became part of the family. Gumball resents his younger sister, Anais, because she is the smartest member of the family. Gumball's mother is the breadwinner in the family, working long hours at the rainbow factory, and his father stays at home watching TV and playing video games.
Running Time: 11 minutes
My Son improves his Science & Math skills as he got exempted for an exam getting a passing rate of 95% in these subjects, but of course we can't always depend on Educational TV shows in terms of Learning, I Believe that Personalized Teaching by Parents is still the Best! We should set a Limit and boundaries for our children.
